Roulette is the all time classic casino game literally meaning “little wheel”. It is a highly popular and fascinating table game and has been one of the main attractions of most casinos. It is a very easy to play game.
It was introduced in France and is one of the oldest games being played in casinos. There are basically two types of roulette- American roulette and European roulette. The basic difference between the two is that American roulette has 38 pockets in wheel and European roulette has 37 pockets in wheel. Another difference is that European roulette has a single 0 in its wheel and the American roulette has double 0 in its wheel along with the numbers 1 to 36.
In this game, the players have to place bets on either a single number or a range of numbers, or the colors red or black, or they can place bets on whether the number is even or odd. There are around 37 or 38 colored and numbered pockets on the roulette wheel. Then a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, and then he spins a ball in the opposite direction around the circumference of the wheel. As the ball loses momentum, it falls into one of the pocket of the wheel which determines the winning color and number.
